England winger Jonny May scored a hat trick in the first 30 minutes against France in round two of the Six Nations.

May’s first try came in the second minute of the match and was set up by full back Eliot Daly, who made a half break before kicking the ball over the try line for the Leicester winger to run onto.

His second try came in the 24th minute, when Owen Farrell’s miss pass left May one-on-one with French winger Damian Penaud, who he stepped on the outside.

May’s hat trick try came just five minutes later when fellow winger Chris Ashton picked up a loose ball and kicked it through the defence for May to pounce on.

England went on to win the game 44-8 at Twickenham, leaving them top of the table after two games and Les Bleus in fifth with one point.

    I've seen somewhere this funny analysis on England tactics : kick the ball between the french back 3, wait for their mistake, kick again in the space opened by the french back 3, score, repeat the action 4 times, score again. Unfortunately very true when you look at this lacklustre french sunday.

      I think it’s more straight forward than that. If you kick the ball whilst going forward, the defensive wingers are up and the full back covering the whole back field. This is the same playing any team, not just France. England have suddenly worked out how to get over the gain line and are exploiting space by kicking

        Did i forget to add France decided to play with 2 centres on the wings, and 1 winger at full-back ? Genius Brunel.

        It’s smart and simple, just flies in the face of in-built rugby logic of keeping the ball in hand when you are going forward.

    Jonny May is an English player I actually like. Lets his skills do the talking and very little show boating from him.

      He has improved more than any other player I can think of. Think back 2-3 years when he tried to push on the flank - that summed up where he was at - raw talent, but no clue! Leicester has been a really good move for him
