WATCH: Moment when streaker invades Top 14 rugby match has fans calling for tougher rules

A fan invaded the pitch in a Top14 clash yesterday and fans were not happy.

Stade Francais hosted Toulouse in round 20 of the Top14 for the 2021/22 season yesterday evening. Stade Francais came away 23-16 winners against the champions.

One moment which had fans talking was when a streker entered the field of play and fan around the pitch fairly easily and unchallenged. At one point in the video there were 5 members of security on the pitch running after the streaker. The streaker outpaces the security after running around the middle of the pitch and eventually runs past the in-goal area before being met by more security. He even got to high-five one of the players on the field while the play was stopped.

One fan on Twitter wrote: “I understand it's fun to be on TV and show off like that, but they should allow the players to go after them and smash them. No lawsuits after that, just include it in the policies of each stadium that any fan deliberately disrupting a professional game during regulation time actually exposes themselves to potential physical harm (from the players, or bouncers). I bet that's what a lot of the players feel like doing anyways, and I bet the fans wouldn't risk it !

A reply on the post said “Surprised Canal gave that lad so much air time. Most broadcasts these days don't show any pitch invaders to take away from their screentime”.

This is something that fans really don’t want to see happen more and more frequently in stadiums around the world.
