Ospreys full back Dan Evans was sent off in the first minute of Saturday’s Champions Cup game against Racing 92 for kicking Teddy Thomas in the face.

Evans jumped to take a high ball when his boot made contact with the face of the French international, resulting in a red card for the 31-year-old.

Even though it was probably accidental, the TMO awarded the red card and the Welsh side went on to suffer a 19-40 defeat to the visitors.

    Commentary (Sam Warburton?) says it's a trailing leg, however Evans is already on his way down and THEN the leg comes up as Thomas approaches. I don't think Evans deliberately kicked Thomas, but it does look to be some sort of uncontrollable reaction to defend oneself mid-air?

      I would have said it looked like an involuntary swing of the leg to while landing and attempting to balance on 1 foot. Reckless maybe, lack of care - still yellow though.
