Wallabies flyhalf Quade Cooper is widely regarded as one of the most skilful players of the past fifteen years.
At his peak, he was nigh-on untouchable on the front foot with his famous goosestep leaving defenders clutching at air.
Such has been his staying power that his best seasons was in 2011 which highlighted by a Super Rugby title with the Reds and Tri-Nations title with the Wallabies.
Having broken through as a schoolboy prodigy in 2008, Cooper has had his ups and downs along the way.
Now 35-years-old and with 76 test caps to his name, Cooper appears to have been intrusted with the responsibility of mentoring several of the Wallabies up-and-coming talent.
Selected as the starting flyhalf in the first two games of Eddie Jones’s second stint in charge of the Wallabies. Cooper is facing a stiff challenge from 22-year-old Carter Gordon for his place in the starting line-up.
The Melbourne Rebels star looks to have all of the skills of a younger Cooper but with perhaps a bit more of the control of a Bernard Foley type player.
Whilst the battle between the two will make for an interesting battle to follow heading into the World Cup. It does not appear to have deterred Cooper from making the outlandish plays he is renowned for.
One such example was this brilliant NFL style pass he through during his side’s recent Rugby Championship loss to Argentina.
Although results have been disappointing to open the season, it appears as though Cooper will not go down without a fight and just a bit of magic.
