WATCH: Wild celebrations continue following long awaited French Grand Slam win

The celebrations continued long after the final whistle for France.

At full time in the final game of the 2022 Six Nations, France finally closed out their first championship win in 12 years. The final score was 25-13 as France relatively comfortably beat England to secure the grand slam. Back when they last won the championship in 2010, they also secured the grand slam.

At full time, players, coaches and fans alike, were overcome with joy and relief as France claimed the title. There were tears of joy from French captain and Player of the Match, Antoine Dupont. World Player of the Year Dupont did not have to wait long to lift the trophy for himself either.

In the hours following the trophy presentation, celebrations continued long into the night for France.

Winger Damian Penaud was interviewed on French TV station Canal + and said that the Six Nations trophy was lost in the Seine river in Paris. A fan in the comments on the post said that Romian Ntamack apparently said that Baptiste Couilloud dove into the Seine to try and get it!

Back in 2019 when Toulouse won the Top14, Romain Ntamack was captured using the trophy, the Bouclier de Brennus as a surfboard in the South of France.

It is no doubt that everyone inside the French camp enjoyed themselves in one way or another at the weekend!
