Wellington Hooker Asafo Aumua steps fullback to score incredible 60m try

Up and coming New Zealand hooker Asafo Aumua continues to make a name for himself with his freakish speed and scoring ability. Over the weekend, he scored another brilliant try against Canterbury in the Mitre 10 Championship.

The sensational run included a nasty step that left Canterbury full-back George Bridge flailing in his wake.

And just like that, yet another outstanding young talent emerges from the seemingly endless supply coming out of New Zealand.

Not long ago, Aumua left his mark on the international stage with a breakout, three-try performance against England in the final of the World Rugby U20 Championship.

It's not difficult to make comparisons to current form All Black hookers Dane Coles and Codie Taylor. We've certainly been spolied and have come to expect this kind of a talent from New Zealand hookers.

Time will tell how far these skills will take him, but he appears to be squarely on the right track.

Julian Savea also managed to get a try in the 60-14 beatdown of previously undbeaten Canterbury.

A proper old-fashioned inside-out. There are a lot of modern wingers who don't have that skill anymore. Fantastic.

Only one other hooker that I know of can do that, Schalk Brits.

Well done to this young fella. Great bit of skill!

That is special. Another skilled player on the All Blacks 24/7 production line.
