Welsh Star Louis Rees-Zammit Appears To Take Aim At WRU’s Latest Decision

Welsh star Louis Rees-Zammit has caused a stir on Twitter with his reaction to the WRU’s move to ban the Tom Jones song “Delilah” from being sung at Welsh games.

In the wake of sexual harassment, racism and misogyny claims against the WRU.

The accusations reached a boiling point last week leading to the resignation of WRU CEO Steve Phillips.

Although the Phillips resignation is still fresh, former captain Sam Warburton made headlines throughout the Autumn Nations Series for his condemnation of the WRU.

It is interesting now to see a current player speak out against a decision made by the Union. Given Rees-Zammit’s profile as one of Welsh Rugby’s brightest young stars, it is unsurprising that his tweet has gained traction.

Interestingly there was a range of opinions offered to Rees-Zammit’s tweet with a number of people claiming the WRU using the removal of the song as a deflection tactic.

Elsewhere other fans felt it right to remove the song given it's lyrics centres around the murder of a woman.
